We are looking for a Game Analyst to join the team in our Central London studio.
As a Games Analyst, you’ll primarily be figuring out what our player data means and what we should do about it, while also augmenting our analytics stack to make our analyses more powerful and efficient. You’ll be helping assess and optimise our marketing campaigns to maximise profitability, and getting involved with in-game economy design in our forthcoming titles.
This is a permanent full-time role. It is based in Old Street, London with the option to work remotely 2 days per week at the discretion of the business, in addition to a very competitive salary package.
Some examples of the work you will be involved in:
Designing and analysing control-based experiments on in-game parameters
Building a dedicated database to bring together our marketing spend and return data
Analysing player data to identify problem areas or missed opportunities
Working with game designers and engineers to solve design problems
Building models to estimate performance where tracking is either missing or not possible
Desired Skills & Experience
Essential. Two things:
You’re deeply comfortable with numbers. Your instinctive approach to any problem is to quantify it first. You always notice when news reports fail to contextualise numbers.
You have experience writing sophisticated SQL queries to analyse user behaviour, but also either building a data stack from scratch or augmenting one with additional data sources.
Desirable. Two is fine. More is better.
- Curious – driven to discover underlying explanations of things, just for fun
- Excel mastery – ever used multi-line formulae, or automated a data import/export? Great!
- Business mind-set – you focus on what will have an impact, not just what’s fun to check out
- You play games, and have an idea of what makes something fun and/or worth paying for
- You enjoy communicating your findings with great data visualisation and presentation skills
- Experience in statistics, or modelling, or other such generally useful techniques
- You’ve played a game by Hutch and have some good ideas on how to improve it!

Hutch are a dynamic games studio based in London and Brighton. Founded on a wealth of traditional game development experience, blending a bunch of people who are talented and passionate about making the best free to play games.
Our goal is to create the best racing games for mobile. We believe small, focused and empowered teams build the best games and we work hard to maintain an open, transparent and self-determined culture. Founded in 2011, we have released 5 games including Smash Cops, Smash Bandits, MMX Racing and MMX Hill Climb with over 90 million players across the world.
When we launch a game, that’s just the start: we use player feedback and most critically data to figure out how to make each game the best it can be. There are so many opportunities to identify insights in our data that we can’t keep up – and that’s where you come in.
